Life can sometimes feel difficult, overwhelming or uncertain. At Clear Waters Counselling, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for adults to explore what they are experiencing, understand themselves more deeply and work towards positive change.
I’m Lindsay, a qualified integrative counsellor. I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, so my aim is to provide a calm, compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood and comfortable being yourself.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the emergency services, supporting people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. I have also spent seven years working within NHS adult mental health services, supporting people experiencing mental health crises and emergency situations. These experiences have shaped the empathetic, respectful and supportive way I work.
How I can help:
You may be seeking counselling support for:
-
Anxiety and worry
-
Low mood
-
Stress or feeling overwhelmed
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Life changes
-
Difficult or challenging experiences
-
Feeling stuck or unsure about what comes next
-
Understanding yourself and your experiences more clearly
You do not need to have a diagnosis, or even be certain about what the problem is, to benefit from counselling. Sometimes there is simply a sense that something does not feel right, or a wish for life to feel different. Together, we can explore what is happening and consider what meaningful change might look like for you.
My approach:
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw upon different counselling theories and approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling, and we will work at a pace that feels right for you.
My role is not to tell you what you should do. Instead, I will walk alongside you as you explore what matters, gain insight into your experiences, recognise your strengths and find a way forward.
Sessions:
I offer face-to-face counselling at Therapies, as well as online sessions. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50.
A free 15-introductory telephone call is available, with no obligation to book further sessions. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, answer your questions and decide whether I am he right counsellor for you.
Professional standards:
I am a registered individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I work in accordance with the professional and ethical standards of both organisations, hold professional indemnity insurance and a current DBS check, and maintain my practice through ongoing professional development and clinical supervision.
